Resources to Support The Black Lives Matter Movement and Yourself

In the current political climate, support for our community, staff, and customers remains a top priority for all of us at NaturAll Club. The current political climate, including the global protests in direct response to the news of George Floyd's death are creating a national dialog that we cannot afford to ignore.

We want you to know that in the face of so much adversity, negativity, and hurt, we are here for you. The struggles that face our community are large and ongoing, but through them all, we strive to encourage you and remind you that we are not just a brand, but a family. Here is a compiled list of ways in which you, and those around, can take action to create a real change as our country grapples with issues of police brutality and racial discrimination.

#1 Spread Awareness!

The #BlackLivesMatter organization and movement is often maligned in the mainstream media. Do your part to speak to its importance and draw attention to the various injustices the movement targets. The Congressional Black Caucus as well as leading advocacy groups like the NAACP, National Association of Black Journalists, Black Press of America (NNPA), and Color of Change are all for the progression of Black folk and have a wealth of resources and information.

The NAACP is hosting a Town Hall on June 3rd to address the justice that needs to be served and the opportunity for new action to combat racism, domestic terrorism, and unjust policing. For additional news and updates feel free to also look into the ACLU's response, the Grassroots Law Project, and the National Urban League.

For those willing to call awareness to all the action that can be taken, feel free to share this document with petitions to sign, organizations to donate to, and phone numbers and email addresses to reach out to in order to demand justice.

#2 Donate!

Most cities have a bail fund that helps free those who do not have the means to pay their way out of jail time as they await trial. Give what you can, and encourage others to do the same. Due to overwhelming support and donations, the MFF has asked to help donate to other organizations. Here are just a few...

And if you can’t pick just one, this link allows you to split your donation between up to 38 different community bail funds.

#3 Stay up to Date!

Keep abreast of news and any updates. Arm yourself with knowledge, especially any city-wide curfews or stay at home orders. A great handle to follow is @blklivesmatter on Instagram and Twitter. You can also listen to NPR for updated news and coverage.

#4 Stay Safe!

Always put your safety first, and be mindful of your presence online and in person. If you do choose to participate in protests either digitally or by other means, be sure to protect yourself and those you love.

#5 Vote!

Electing candidates that will value and uphold equality within our government is a key component of any movement. Participate in local and national elections, and motivate everyone you know to do the same.

#6 Take Care!

Always take the time to check in with yourself. Activism is rewarding, but it is hard work. If you are overwhelmed, seeking out professional help is a fantastic way to work through your emotions and be heard. Here is a masterlist of African American Therapists in Philadelphia. Also, make sure you take time out to relax and just “be”. You deserve it!

In addition to Project Lets, here are some Instagram accounts with virtual workshops and resources that focus around meditation, healing, and self growth specifically for POC…

NaturAll Club’s mission is to provide products with integrity, and uplift our community. In these incredibly uncertain times, working together to provide all the resources necessary is extremely important. As a Black-owned business, we know all too well the deeply personal and sensitive nature of our country’s constant battle against systemic and institutional racism. Our team consists of 90% minorities and 100% of people who stand for justice. We hope that you utilize these suggestions and are able to remain positive through these tough times. NaturAll Club stands with you!

At NaturAll, we create and elevate clean haircare and beauty standards, providing freshly-made products that are better for you and your hair. Sourced from small farmers in Jamaica and Ghana. We source ingredients directly from small farmers in Jamaica and Ghana, so we always know how our ingredients are sourced and exactly who is being supported by our business. We are proud to support Black farmers and small businesses around the world. We believe that what goes on your body is as important as what goes in it. Too many hair products are made with synthetic ingredients that are irritating, damaging, or even hazardous, and the problem is worse in hair products marketed to Black women.
